ABOUT TROLL SOLUTION

Troll Solution is a Danish legal research, advisory, and innovation platform founded by Tonny Schnipper in 2011 and currently preparing for its transition into an ApS (private limited company) in Autumn 2026.

With more than 20 years of experience in legal research, advisory work, and entrepreneurship, Troll Solution operates at the intersection of law, technology, economics, and innovation. The platform focuses particularly on intellectual property, competition law, digital markets, artificial intelligence (AI), copyright, Internet of Things (IoT), platform regulation, and data governance.

Tonny Schnipper holds an LL.M. in European Intellectual Property Law from Stockholm University, where his thesis examined IPRs in Standardisation from a Competition Law Perspective, as well as a Danish cand.jur. degree.

Current research focuses on Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), FRAND licensing, digital competition governance, the Digital Markets Act (DMA), behavioural economics, copyright, artificial intelligence, and the evolving relationship between law, innovation, and technological change.

Current writing projects include an article on SEP governance, FRAND, and digital competition regulation, developed from ongoing research into standardisation, innovation, and regulatory design. Related work is currently under academic review and forms part of a broader research agenda examining how legal systems adapt to technological complexity.

Rather than treating law as a static discipline, Troll Solution explores how legal systems adapt to complexity, uncertainty, and emerging technologies. The ambition is to combine rigorous legal analysis with practical insight and interdisciplinary thinking to support innovation, fair competition, and effective governance in the digital economy.

Research interests include intellectual property, copyright, competition law, AI governance, digital markets, platform regulation, behavioural economics, and the role of standards in technological innovation.

Member of the SCIDA and FIDMA research networks.

Lectures are offered at a reasonable price, depending on who the experts are and the subject.
